2020 Reads

I've always been a big reader. How often I read ebbs and flows but this year one of my goals was to really focus on my reading and I set a goal of reading at least 20 books this year. My To Be Read (TBR) pile is massive and I'm hoping to use some of this extra time at home this summer to keep making a dent in my goal.  I'll continue to update this as my read pile grows throughout the year. It was unique in that they had several different people narrate as the book switches point-of-view from chapter to chapter. Happy [Sheltered In Place] Mother's Day

Today is my second Mother's Day as a mom and I am filled with so many emotions. We have been extremely diligent about sticking close to home except for Kyle running errands and we'll take the occasional walk around the neighborhood. We want to do our part to help flatten the curve, help minimize the spread, and most importantly, we are trying to keep our son healthy in part because he was born 5 weeks prematurely.  But today instead of laying low, we did the opposite. If you had asked me 3 months ago what I would want to do for Mother's Day, "absolutely nothing" would have most likely been my answer. We're extremely lucky that both sets of parents live within driving distance and we were able to see both moms today. This was both great for the soul and saddening for many reasons but pretty high on the list: I really miss hugs.  I'm an introvert and found the adjustment to staying home fairly seamless.
